The TOUR Academy Junior Golf Camp
The TOUR Academy Junior Golf Camp at Morgan Creek Golf Club has an exceptional training and instruction facility. Golfers can take advantage of cutting edge equipment and it features an all-natural grass driving range, a putting and chipping green, practice bunkers, and the best club fitting technologies. Golfers can fine tune every type of shot you may face on the golf course at Morgan Creek Golf Club practice facilities.
Camp Directors
Phillip Dawson and Jerrel Grow are the Directors for the TOUR Academy Jr. Golf Camp at Morgan Creek. Phillip Dawson has been a teaching professional since 2006. Since 2006, Phillip has been a guest instructor at Pebble Beach and worked as an instructor at Old Greenwood Golf Academy. Before working as a teaching professional, Phillip had much success as a playing professional. From 2001-2006 and from 2008-2009 he was the winner of 13 professional golf events. He played on the Canadian PGA TOUR from 2003-2007 and was named the NCPGA AA Player of the Year in 2008. Phillip has shot a course record 60(-12 par) in competition,
and he qualified for the 2nd stage of the PGA TOUR Q-School. Phillip has also had the privilege of working with Top 50 instructors Laird Small, Dean Reinmuth, Dick Harmon, and Mike Labauve.
A PGA Class “A” member since 2004, Jerrel Grow brings a wealth of knowledge to the camp. Jerrel was the Head Golf Professional at Cameron Park CC from 2006-2009, and in 2006, was named the NCPGA Assistant Professional of the Year and the NCPGA Assistant Division President. Jerrel also saw great success playing at the professional level. Most recently, he qualified for the Nationwide Tour Stonebrae Classic in 2009. Jerrel is a Certified Club Fitter for Titleist/Cobra. He has had the privilege of working with Golf Digest Top 50 instructors Jim Flick and David Leadbetter.
Additional Staff
During the TOUR Academy Junior Golf Camp, Phillip and Jerrel will be assisted by a staff of PGA Professionals who will serve as the camp counselors. Each of our TOUR Academy instructors is a carefully selected career teaching professional who share a refreshing, effective and proven approach to the art of successful golf instruction. Golf instruction will focus on improving the camper’s swing, short game, putting, and course management. We are dedicated to improving not only the camper’s fundamentals, but their mental game as well.
Camp Specifics
Full Day campers will check-in on Monday at 9:00 am. The camp will end at 4:00 pm each day, with the graduation ceremony taking place on Friday at 4:00 pm after the tournament at the Morgan Creek clubhouse.
Half Day campers will check-in on Monday at 9:00 am. The camp will end at 12:00 pm each day.
